Obituary of Mary C. "Winnie" (Wynne) Rix

Mary C. Winnie (Wynne) Rix 91 years of Peabody wife of the late Ralph T. Rix, died Sunday March 21st after a courageous 91 years battle with life. Mrs. Rix was born November 25, 1912 in Salem daughter of the late Thomas and Julia (Burke) Wynne. She was raised in Salem attended St. James School and graduated from Salem High School class of 1929. Prior to her marriage she was employed as an inspector for Parker Bros. Games Company in Salem. After living in Beverly for 25 years and Florida for 11 years, she returned to Salem and was a communicant of St. James Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid reader, enjoyed dancing, beano and was an avid baseball fan. Mrs. Rix was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by a daughter and her companion, Pamela L. Rix and Alex Sherwood of Peabody; a son and his companion, Michael H. Rix and Kathy Brace of Winter Park, FL; 3 grandchildren, Shelby Rix of GA, Derek and Steven Rix of FL and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Thomas Winn, Martin, Francis and Robert Wynne and Gertrude Rando. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody location. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may pay their respect Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. A committal of ashes will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers MA 01923
