Obituary of Ernest T. Santapaula

Ernest T. Santapaula PEABODY Ernest T. Santapaula, 76, beloved husband of Doris (Lebel) Santapaula, died unexpectedly Friday morning at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Dominic and Susan (Penniman) Santapaula. He lived in Peabody for most of his life, and attended Peabody schools. He graduated from Peabody High School. Mr. Santapaula played on the Football Team at Peabody High during the Championship year 1944. He enjoyed Square Dancing, volunteering at the North Shore Music Theater, the Peabody Council on Aging, and was a general sports fan especially for the Boston Red Sox. He worked as a Finisher at Stahl Finish in Peabody for 39 years before retiring in 1990. He is survived by: his wife, Doris (Lebel) Santapaula of Peabody, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary Santapaula and Brian & Paula Santapaula, both of Danvers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna & Robert Wilson of Peabody and Sheila & Mark Robinson of Danvers; Nine grandchildren, Delia Stanley of Danvers, Jamie Santapaula of Peabody, Tristan Wilson, Brentan Wilson, and Breanna Wilson all of Danvers, Matthew Santapaula and Steven Santapaula, both of Danvers, Stephanie Robinson and Michael Robinson both of Danvers; two great-grandchildren, Emma Stanley and Aidan Stanley both of Danvers; one brother, Ralph Santapaula of Brookline; one sister, Madeline Ferris of Reno, NV, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Tony, Lawrence, and Joseph Santapaula, and sisters Lillian Levasseur and Marie Lanciano. His funeral will be held on Monday at 10 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North SHore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
