Obituary of Christie (Woodbury) Bettencourt
Christie (Woodbury) Bettencourt, 85, beloved wife of the late Daniel R. Bettencourt, died Friday afternoon at the Montserrat Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beverly.
Born in Rowley, she was the daughter of the late William and Christie (Avery) Woodbury. She lived in Peabody for 55 years.
Mrs. Bettencourt was employed with GTE Sylvania in their Production Department for 35 years until her retirement nearly 23 years ago.
She was a member of the GTE Quarter Century Club, was an avid bowler and golfer, was in the Sylvania Bowling League, and most importantly she loved being with her family and caring for her grandchildren. She was also a communicant at St. John’ s Church in Peabody.
She is survived by: a daughter, Donna Cauley of Salem; two grandchildren, Brittany Cauley and Garrett Cauley, both of Salem, and several nieces and nephews as she was one of a family with 14 brothers and sisters. She was also recently preceded in death by a son-in-law, William G. Cauley, Jr. who died March 6, 2004.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM in the Cahill-Brodeur facility at 20 Church St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
A visitation will be held today from 5 to 7 P.M.
Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
