Obituary of Jospeh Wojtowicz

Joseph Wojtowicz, 87, of Peabody, died early Tuesday morning at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Stella (Butynski) Wojtowicz. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late John and Tafilia (Jervanopski) Wojtowicz. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody, and attended Peabody Public Schools. Prior to his retirement in 198, he worked in Peabody’ s Leather industry, first at AC.Lawrence Leather Company and later for Leach and Heckel in Salem. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching baseball and football. He also enjoyed gardening and was a member of St. Michael’ s Society in Peabody and was a member of St. Joseph’ s Church in Peabody as well. He is survived by a son, Joseph Wojtowicz of Peabody; a brother, Anthony Wojtowicz of Danvers and a sister, Josephine Kalapinski of Danvers and several nieces and nephews. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
