Obituary of Tadeusz Lewicki
Tadeusz Lewicki, 84 years, of Peabody, formerly of St. Petersburg, FL died unexpectedly Thursday morning at his home. He was the husband of the late Kamila (Kukrowski) Lewicki.
Mr. Lewicki was born on May 10, 1919 in Dubno, Poland son of the late Kazimierz and Maria (Janicki) Lewicki. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1950 and became a citizen on Feb. 13, 1970. Prior to coming to this country he was a coal miner in forced labor camps in Germany from 1943 to 1944.
Mr. Lewicki had worked in the leather industry in Peabody for many years prior to working for the former Parker Brothers in Salem for 16 years as a machinist. He had been living in St. Petersburg, FL for the past 12 years having returned to Peabody a month ago.
He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Teresa and Emil Szmyd of Peabody, 3 grandchildren, Edward and Richard Szmyd both of Peabody and Robert Symyd of Helena, Alabama, 4 great grandchildren, Nicholas and Maggiemae Szmyd of Peabody and Isabella and Rose Szmud of Alabama.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Church , Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visitation will be held in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home 12 Chestnut St. facility Peabody, MA Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 prior to the funeral. Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
