Obituary of Gabrielle (L'Italien) Hunter

Gabrielle G. (L’ Italien) Hunter, 89, of Salem, and formally of Peabody, died late Sunday evening at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late George Hunter. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late John and Alice (Morin) L’ Italien. She was raised and educated in Salem and attended Salem Schools. Upon marrying her husband, she moved to Peabody where she resided for over 25 years until moving back to Salem a few years ago. She was a loving mother and a very devoted grandmother who is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Donald Lovato of Peabody, her two granddaughters, Cheryl Kirlis of Hampstead, New Hampshire and Dawn Lovato of Peabody, and she was the great grandmother of Amanda, Derek, Andrew and Nicholas. She was the sister of several late brothers and a sister who lived in the North Shore area. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visitation will be held in the church prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
