Obituary of Emilio P. "Mimi" Zorzonello
Emilio P. Mimi Zorzonello 77 years, of Peabody died Thursday at the Peabody Glen Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Mr. Zorzonello was born August 14, 1927 in Newark, NJ son of the late Eugenio and Maria (Rolandelli) Zorzonello. He was raised and educated in Peabody. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1945 and served as a T/5 with the 467th Signal heavy Construction Company Aviation. During his tour of duty he was stationed in Japan as a lineman and received the Army Occupation Medal.
Mr. Zorzonello was employed as a leather worker retiring in 1985 from Fermon Leather Company in Peabody. He was a member of the VFW Fidelity Post 1011, the Italian American Citizens Club and the Metro Bowling Team all in Peabody. As hobbies he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by a brother, Eugene P. Zorzonello of Peabody; his sister-in-law, Hilda L. (Modugno) Zorzonello of Peabody; 4 nephews, Peter Zorzonello and Eugene Zorzonello of Peabody, John Zorzonello of Danvers and Leonard Zorzonello of Lynn; 2 nieces, Mary Ann McDonald of Lynn and Joan Zorzonello of Peabody; 5 great nieces anf 2 great nephews. He was also pre deceased by his brother Peter A. Zorzonello.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Monday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
