Edward D. Ned Dabrieo
PEABODY Edward D. Ned Dabrieo, beloved husband of Helen T. (Gavin) Dabrieo, died Thursday evening at his son’ s home in Sanford, ME, following a brief illness.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Horace and Mary (Foley) Dabrieo. He lived in Peabody for many years, and attended Peabody schools. He graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1940. He lived in Danvers for many years.
Mr. Dabrieo worked as a Machinist for many years with GTE Sylvania in Salem until retiring almost 19 years ago.
He was a veteran of World War II, with service in the United States Navy.
He enjoyed gardening, and was especially talented and creative with Stained Glass and taught this craft for the Danvers Senior Center, was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 1409 of Peabody, and the GTE Quarter Century Club. He mostly loved being with family and friends, and sharing all his efforts, crafts, and fruits of his labor as a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by: his wife, Helen T. (Gavin) Dabrieo of Danvers, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia & Richard Lohnes of Plaistow, NH and Judy & Keith Small of Haverhill; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward G. & Betsy Dabrieo of Sanford, ME; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; four brothers, Robert Dabrieo of Iowa, David Dabrieo and John Dabrieo, both of Peabody, and Ernest Dabrieo of Woburn; four sisters, Kaye Ryan, Claire Kane, Betty Armstrong, and Sr. Ellen Dabrieo, SND, all of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bud Dabrieo, and sisters Virginia La Chapelle and Mary Lou Armstrong.
His Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM in Holy Family Church in Sanford, ME to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
Friends and family may also call at a visitation on Monday from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 12 Chestnut St., Peabody.
Burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Sanford, ME.
Memorial donations may be made to the Danvers Senior Center, c/o Danvers Council on Aging, 1 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
