Obituary of Louise A. (Pendlebury) O'Connell
Louise A. O’ Connell, 72, of Atkinson, New Hampshire, died early Friday afternoon at the Parkland Medical Center following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Charles O’ Connell.
Born in Charlestown, MA, she was the daughter of the late Burt and Dorothy (Petersen) Pendlebury. She was raised and educated in Charleston and was a graduate of Charlestown High School.
Upon marring her husband, she lived in East Boston for 8 years, and then moved to Peabody where she resided for over 43 years and has been living in Atkinson for the last couple of years. She also winter in St. Petersburg, Florida for the past ten years.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a branch secretary for the IRS at the Andover Office for over twenty years.
She enjoyed playing bingo, canasta, and while in Florida, she was a member of the Sons of Italy where she enjoyed playing cards.
She is survived by three sons, Charles O’ Connell of Salem, Richard O’ Connell of Laconia, NH, and Robert O’ Connell of Peabody; a daughter, Kathy McDonald of Atkinson, NH; a brother, Donald Pendlebury of Florida; three sisters, Dorothy Penaskovic of Hooksett, NH, Gail Remeika of Simsbury, CT, and Elaine Crowley of Wakefield, MA; seven grandchildren, Kyle O’ Connell, Taylor, Shaina, and Madeline O’ Connell, Ryan and Matthew O’ Connell and Amy McDonald. She also is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made in her name to the MGH, Cancer Center, 55 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114.
