Obituary of Charles Morse
Charles Morse, 82, of Cape Coral Florida and formally of Peabody, died Monday April 12, 2004 at the Health Park Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Catherine A. (McKenna) Morse.
Born in East Boston, he was the son of the late William and Adella (Murphy) Morse. He raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of the High School of Commerce, class of 1939.
He was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Navy aboard the USS San Juan. After the war, he went to work for the MBTA, first as a street car driver and then as a bus driver, for over 25 years until his retirement in 1984.
He was a member of the Carmans Union 589 in Boston, and he liked to watch baseball and traveling.
He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles Teddy Morse of Peabody, Gerard and Ellen Morse of Peabody, and William Morse of Danvers; two daughters and a son-in-law, Eileen A. Schunemann and her husband Tim Greeley of Amesbury and Catherine M. Morse of Cape Coral, Florida; two brothers, William Morse of Pennsylvania and Thomas Morse pf New Jersey; two sisters, Barbara Balcom of Melrose and Mary SHea of East Boston; 5 grandchildren, Robert, Kerry, and Erin Morse, and James and Gregory Schunemann and a great grandchild, Abigail Morse and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the brother of the late Lillian Christiansen.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
