Obituary of Peter J. Bovio

Peter Joseph Bovio, 90, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Anna Virginia (Castronova) Bovio. He was born in Peabody on June 7, 1916, the son of the late Martin and Margaret (Giglio) Bovio and was educated in Peabody schools and resided here all his life. He had been employed as a technician with the Eastman Geletine Corp. of Peabody for 45 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf at the Gannon Golf Course in Lynn. He also liked to do crossword puzzles, cooking and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of the Italian American Club of Peabody. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert and Gail Bovio and James Bovio all of Peabody, 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Marie and Stephen Comora of Danvers, Janet and John Scanlan of Salem, Elaine and Joseph Penney and Tina and Tom Mc Carthy all of Peabody, a sister, Anne Walker of Redlands, California, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Americo “Max” Bovio, Joseph Bovio and Lena Chalefoux. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility. His Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Peabody at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn.
