Obituary of Vincent Anzalone
Vincent Anzalone, beloved husband of the late Mary (Gallagher) Anzalone, died unexpectedly on Wednesday at the Lawrence General Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in the North End of Boston, he was the son of the late Vincent J. and Josephine (D’ Amore) Anzalone. He lived in Revere in his youth, and lived in Peabody for most of his life.
He was a veteran of World War II, with service in the United States Army.
Mr. Anzalone was a Bus Driver for the Massachusetts Transit Authority, MTA, and a member of the Carmen’ s Union of Greater Boston. He worked several routes in the Boston area for 30 years before retiring 25 years ago.
He was a very dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. Spending time with his family was his favorite pastime.
He is survived by: one daughter, Jane Denahey of Medford; one son, Paul Anzalone of Raymond, NH; six grandchildren, Sharon & Ronald Denahey, Jennifer & Christopher Anzalone, and David & Stephanie Anzalone; two great-grandchildren, Leah & Tayla Denahey; two sisters, Vera Cookson and Celia Merritt, and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home,12 Chestnut St. facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John’ s Church Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA 01843.
