Obituary of Anne (Stepenuck) Durand

Anne (Stepenuck) Durand, 83, of Peabody, died Thursday at the Union Hospital, Lynn after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Durand She was born in Peabody on August 2, 1920, the daughter of the late Ignatius and Catherine (Bury) Stepenuck and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1937. Mrs. Durand was first employed at GTE Sylvania in Salem and later was employed at the former Duffy Leather Company in Peabody for 15 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed baking and knitting and doing crossword puzzles. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Adrienne Mavragis of Ipswich, MA and daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Richard Williams of So. Peabody, a sister, Mrs. Mary Vercellone of Peabody, 4 grandchildren, Stacie Lepore of Glastonbury, Ct., Aimee Mavragis of Fairfax, VA, James and Gary Williams both of Peabody; 2 great grandchildren, Michael and Allyson Lepore of Ct. and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John and William Pat Stepenuck. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours on Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are Kindly invited. Panikhida Service will be at 6:00 PM.
