Obituary of John J. Casey
John J. Jack Casey, 88, beloved husband of Gladys (Andrick) Casey and the late Margaret (Fowler) Casey, died Thursday evening at the VNA of Middlesex County Hospice House in Reading following a brief illness.
Born in New York City, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Ryan) Casey. He lived there in his youth and attended schools there. He graduated from Manhattan College with a bachelor degree.
Mr. Casey lived in Peabody for 35 years, and for the last 25 years split his time living between Florida and North Reading.
He was an Accountant, and served as Treasurer at Phillips International Tool Company in Natick.
He was a veteran of World War II, with service in the United States Army, and was a member of the Manhattan Club, and loved traveling.
He is survived by: his wife, Gladys (Andrick) Casey of North Reading, with whom he shared 10 years of marriage; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan & Thomas Gilder of Dallas, TX and Barbara Casey Peabody; four sons and three daughters-in-law, John & Janet Casey, Jr. of Dunbarton, NH, Richard & Cathy Casey of Sherrill, NY, Thomas & Beverly Damen of Wallingford, CT, and William Casey of Peabody; nine grandchildren, one great-grandson; one sister and brother-in-law, Julie & Bill Koenig, CA, and several nieces and nephews.
. His funeral will be held on Monday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut ST location, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 to 6 PM.
Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
