Obituary of Margaret Bettencourt

Margaret Bettencourt, 82, a former Peabody resident, died Friday evening at the Lakeview House Nursing Home in Haverhill after a long illness. She was born in Peabody on July 9, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Bettencourt) Bettencourt and had resided in Peabody and Danvers before moving to Haverhill 6 years ago. She is survived by 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Manuel and Alzira Bettencourt of Peabody and Eugene and Margaret Bettencourt of Beverly, her step-mother, Maria de Lourdes Bettencourt and a step-sister, Maria Mello both of Peabody, a sister-in-law, Virginia Bettencourt of Peabody and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and Grandnephews. She was the sister of the late John and Herman Bettencourt. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility. A visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 AM prior to the Service. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
