Obituary of William Halchuck

William Halchuck PEABODY William Halchuck, 88, beloved husband of the late Lena (Nekoroski) Halchuck, died Friday morning at the Blueberry Hill Nursing Home in Beverly, following a long illness. Born in Salem, he was orphaned by the influenza epidemic of 1918. He was raised by Foster parents. Mr. Halchuck was a hard-working man, starting in his childhood as a Leather Worker, then as a Dynamiter in the New Hampshire CCC, a Water Well Driller on Indian Reservations in California, a Produce Grocer in Peabody, and an Auto Mechanic at local Studebaker, Edsel and Dodge dealerships from which he retired. He enjoyed being an outdoorsman for his love of nature and fishing, and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Peabody for many years. A widower of Lena (Nekoroski) Halchuck, he leaves sons Timothy of Palos Verdes, CA, William of Lisbon Falls, ME, Richard of Woburn, and Robert of Peabody; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a visitation on Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M. before cremation in the 12 Chestnut St. location of Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody. Following cremation, the Funeral Ceremony will be held on Wednesday at 12 Noon in the funeral home. Urn burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
