Obituary of Christopher Mantsourani

Christopher Mantsourani, 33, of Peabody died Tuesday evening at the Salem Hospital after a year illness with lymphoma cancer. He was the sixth recipient of a Heart Transplant at the Children’ s Hospital in 1988 and was a poster boy for the North East Heart Association. He was born in Salem on March 2, 1971, the son of Steve Mantsourani and Elizabeth (Dougherty) Mantsourani both of Peabody and had resided here most of his life. He was a graduate of the PREP Alternative High School in Peabody. He loved working with computers and video games and electronic devices. He was also known for his compassion to others. Surviving him besides his parents of Peabody are two brothers, Steven Mantsourani of Peabody and Michael and Dina Manstourani of Wakefield, his aunts, Martha Fitzgerald of Amesbury, Kathleen Dougherty of Lynn and Julie Dougherty and her husband William Woodward of Salem, his uncles, Charles and his wife Susan Mantsourani and George Mantsourani all of Peabody, his step mother, Angie Mantsourani and her daughter, Nicole and Larry Park and their son Nicholas Park all of Peabody, his grandparents, Mary and Charles Baletsa of Salem, his nieces and nephews, Aaron, Tyler and Caitlin Manstourani of Peabody , Michael Mantsourani of Beverly and Aria Mantsourani of Wakefield and several cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 A M at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. Visiting hours on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Family will accept flowers and/or donations to the Mass. General Hospital Stem Cell Research Unit, 55 Fruit St., Boston, Ma. 02114 or the Children’ s Hospital of Boston, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, Ma. 02115 in his memory.
