Obituary of Alfred A. Signorelli

Alfred A. Fred Signorelli, 86, of Saugus, died Tuesday morning at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, MA after a short illness. He was the husband of Julia (Perosino) Signorelli with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. He was born in Boston on March 12, 1918, the son of the late Ronolo and Josephine (Valenti) Signorelli and had resided in Malden and later in Medford for many years before moving to Saugus 25 years ago. He had been a veteran of WW 11 serving as an electrician mate 2nd class with the US Navy in the Asiatic and Pacific theatre operations. Following his discharge he became a manager for several local package stores in Boston and Wakefield prior to his retirement 24 years ago. He had been a member of the Medford Lodge of Elks, and loved to cook and enjoyed cruises to Bermuda. Surviving him besides his wife are a daughter, Arlene Giovanni of Peabody, 3 grandchildren, Ronald Giovanni Jr. of Peabody, Lori Lavoie of Boxford, Ma and Robert Giovanni of Dover, NH, 2 great grandchildren, Michael and Joseph Lavoie of Boxford and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Robert Signorelli, and the brother of the late Michael Signorelli . His funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 11:00 A.M. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
