Obituary of Marion (Welch) Dumas Wright

Marion (Welch) Dumas Wright, 94, formerly of Peabody, died Wednesday morning at the Oosterman Rest Home in Wakefield after a long illness. She was the former wife of the late John F. Dumas and the late Lawrence Wright. She was born in Peabody, MA on September 26, 1909, the daughter of the late Richard and Josephine (Mc Donald) Welch and had resided most of her life in Peabody. She was a graduate of Peabody High School and then the Salem Normal School now Salem State College and began her teaching in Peabody in 1928. She taught in the Peabody School System for 41 years retiring in 1969. She had been a member of the Mass retired Teachers Association and the St. John’ s Church Ladies Sodality. Surviving her are 4 step- children, William Wright of Bournedale, Ma and Walter Wright of Stoneham, Loris Betsy King of Lynnfield and Beatrice Nolan of Washington, her nieces and nephews, Lt. Col Joseph Henry, US Army (ret) and Dr. David Henry both of Denver, CO, Patricia Falbo of Spring, Texas, Dr. Brian Henry of Paris, France and Michelle Lawler of Salt Lake City, Utah and many grand nieces and grand nephews. She was the sister of the late Rita Armstrong and Richard Welch Her Funeral will be held on Monday from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 9:00 a.m. A Visitation will be held from 8:15 to 8:45 AM prior to the Funeral Mass. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial will be in St. Joseph’ s Cemetery, Lynn, MA.
