Obituary of Jon Leonard Eagan
Jon Leonard “Peaches” Eagan, 64, of Peabody, died Saturday at the Salem Hospital, Hospice Unit in Salem after a long illness. He was born in Peabody on February 21, 1942, the son of the late George and Olga (Sarowsky) Eagan and was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1961. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody.
He had been employed first in the leather industry in Peabody and later in the Security department at the former Danvers State Hospital for 15 years. He also worked at the General Electric Co in Lynn prior to his retirement 10 years ago.
He was always active in sports and was on the first Little League Yankee team in Peabody as a catcher. He had been a long time member of the St. Michael’s Club of Peabody and belonged to their golf league and softball teams for many years.
He is survived by a daughter, Heather Eagan of Stockbridge, MA, a brother and sister-in-law, Philip “P.J”. and Laurie Eagan of Peabody, Two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and John Dullea of Peabody and Gerry and Tom Michaud of Marblehead and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in St. John’s Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
