Obituary of Edwin A. Mooney
Edwin A. Mooney, 88, of Peabody, and formerly of Lynn, Ma and Alfred, Maine, died Saturday at the Salem Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of Emily Virginia (Davis) Mooney.
He was born and raised in Lynn, the son of the late Frederick and Hazel (Brown) Mooney and resided in Lynn and
later in Alfred, Maine before moving to Peabody 2 years ago.
He was a WW 11 veteran of the US Navy serving aboard the
USS Pensacola and following the war, attended many reunions with the men of the Pensacola.
He had been employed at the General Electric Co. in Lynn
for over 30 years prior to his retirement.
Surviving him besides his wife are 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Virginia Mooney of Derry, NH and Alan and Judy Mooney of No. Andover, MA, seven grandchildren,
eight great grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Donald Plourde of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. He was the step-father of the late Frederick Melanaphy.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility. Relatives and friends
are kindly invited. There are no visiting hours. A Family
Burial will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred, Maine.
