Obituary of John J. Dullea

John Dullea, 78, of Peabody, died Saturday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Center, Peabody after a long illness. He was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on April 16, 1926, the son of the late John and Nellie (Leonardo) Dullea and had resided most of his life in Peabody. He was a graduate of Peabody High School and then entered the US Navy serving in WW 11 for 3 years before his discharge in 1947. He was a member of the DAV Chapter 100 of Peabody and was a lifetime charter member of the WW 11 memory society. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 153 of Peabody and the Peabody Council on Aging. Following his discharge, he was a welder at General Electric Co., Lynn and later at the Quincy Ship Yard in Quincy for many years. In later years he was a school crossing guard for the city of Salem school system. He is survived by 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Donald Finn of North Andover and Norma and Donald Clark of Sunnyvale, CA., his cousins, Jean and Frank Verry of Peabody and Marie Goodridge of Lexington, Ma., and many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grand nephews. His Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. John’ s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held prior to the Funeral from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility. Relatives and friends kindly invited .
