Obituary of Margot E. (Johnson) Girodet
Margot Elizabeth (Johnson) Girodet, 59, a language teacher at the No. Reading High School died Thursday at the Mass General Hospital, Boston after a short illness. She was the wife of Paul J.M. Girodet, a retired professor at Tufts University.
She was born in Salem, MA on May 25, 1945, the daughter of Emeline (Mc Cathy) Johnson of Lynnfield and the late Russell W. Johnson and was raised in West Peabody.
She received her B.A. degree and later her Masters Degree in Arts from Boston University. She first taught Spanish and French in Lynnfield High and had taught at No. Reading High School for the past 24 years. She also taught languages at the Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown and UMass at Lowell.
She was a world traveler with her husband and worked with the Lahey clinic on languages and programs for the elderly.
Surviving her besides her husband and mother are a son and daughter-in-law, Christian and Mona Girodet of London, England and many cousins, relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield. Visiting hours on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Family has requested donations be made to the Margot Girodet Scholarship Fund, c/o Eastern Bank,
37 Foster St., Peabody, Ma. 01960 in her memory.
