Obituary of Margaret Rose (Cassese) Gelott

Margaret Rose (Cassese) Gelott, 78, of Peabody, died early Sunday morning at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Frank J. Gelott, former Veterans Agent for the City of Peabody. Born in New York, New York, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Grace (Giglio) Cassese. She was raised and educated in New York and was a graduate of the Julia Richmond High School in Staten Island New York. She had resided in Peabody for over 40 years, and then retired to St. Petersburg, Florida from 1988 until 1998, before moving back to Peabody. She and her husband enjoyed dancing to big band music and she also enjoyed sewing. She is survived by four sons, Frank and David Gelott, both of Salem, Robert Gigliotti of California, and William Gelott and his girl friend, Grace Gerald, both of Winthrop; a brother, William Cassese of New York, three sisters, Mary Menna, Theresa Mattarasso, and Rose Martin, all of New York; four sisters-in-law, Catherine Cronin, Mary Trabucco, Lena Styles, and Lucy Peterson, all of Peabody, and a granddaughter, Tiffany Gelott of Dorchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. There are no visiting hours.
