Obituary of Charles John Tracchia

Charles John. Tracchia, 95, of South Peabody, died Monday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Eleanor (Tella) Tracchia. He was born in Lynn on May 1, 1911 the son of the late Nicholas and Serafina (Tenaglia) Tracchia and had resided in Peabody most of his life. He had been employed in the Leather Industry in Peabody as a color matcher for over 45 years working at Modern Leather, Verza Tanning, Rex Leather, and later at Ideal Leather Company prior to his retirement. He enjoyed working in his garden and as a hobby, he made many leather belts and wallets. He is survived by a son, retired Peabody Fireman, Charles Joseph Tracchia of Peabody, a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Michael Novak of Peabody; five grandchildren, James Collins, Amy Tracchia and Philip Tracchia all of Peabody, Juliann Ventre of Beverly and Peter Tracchia of Deerfield, MA, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Ronald S. Tracchia and the brother of the late Quintin, John and Philip Tracchia and Annie De Cola. A Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility. His Funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, So Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
