Obituary of Anna G. (Sonsava) McLaughlin

Anna (Sonsava) Mc Laughlin, 93, of Peabody died Sunday at the Lahey Clinic North Hospital, Peabody after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Edward L. Mc Laughlin. She was born in Haverhill, Ma on February 28, 1911, the daughter of the late Martin and Catherine (Sudol) Sonsava , was raised in Groveland and had resided in Peabody for the past 65 years. She had worked in the Cafeteria Department of the Peabody School System for 12 years prior to her retirement. She had been a member of the Peabody Council on Aging, the St. John’ s Ladies Sodality and played on their bowling league. She also enjoyed golf and help raising her grandchildren. She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-laws, Edward M. and Carole Mc Laughlin of Danvers and Thomas and Carol Mc Laughlin of Ft. Myers, Fl, a sister, Bernice Sonsava of Peabody, 4 grandchildren, Donna Streeter of Groveland, Kelly Devarenne of Georgetown, Lauren Mc Laughlin of New York and Mark Mc Laughlin of Brookline, MA, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Sophie Sheehan, Peter and Michael Sonsava. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody at 9:00 a.m. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice.
