Obituary of Helen (Sakaris) Luis

Helen (Sakaris) Luis, 72, of Peabody, died early Wednesday afternoon at the Grosvner Park Nursing Home, Salem, following a brief illness. She was the former wife of the late Frank F. Luis. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John and Angelina (Corneotis) Sakaris. She was a lifelong resident of the city and attended Peabody Public Schools. Prior to her retirement in 1991, she worked for over 30 years as a waitress at Anthony Pier IV in Boston. She later enjoyed playing bingo and was a member of Post 507 in Lynn. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Faverman of Peabody; two sisters, Mary Pagliarini of Malden and Anastasia Sakaris of Peabody, 4 grandchildren and 5 great children. She was the sister of the late James Sakaris and Georgia Coogan. A Private funeral service was held this Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at the Swampscott Church of Spiritualism.
