Obituary of Robert V. Conway

Robert V. Conway, 70, formally of Charlestown and a longtime resident of Peabody and summer resident of Conway’ s Castle in West Dennis, died Tuesday at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen J. (Wall) Conway with whom he shared over 46 years of marriage. Born in Charlestown, he was the son of the late John T. and Ellen L. (Morey) Conway. He was a graduate of the former Boston Trade High School and Boston University. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He worked as an airline mechanic at Logan Airport until his retirement from Delta Airlines. Mr. Conway was the beloved father and father-in-law of Kathleen A. Conway of Nantucket, Ellen L. Vinard and her husband Paul, Maryanne Conway and her husband Francis LeBlanc all of Swampscott, Robert V. Conway, Jr., and his wife Christine of Lynnfield, Shelagh A. Murphy and her husband William of Peabody, and Maureen E. Conway. Mr. Conway was the cherished grandfather of Paul Jr., Joseph, Nora, Michael and Maire Vinard, Maryanne and Jessica Conway, Daniel Conway-LeBlanc, Sarah, Kathleen, Robert III, Sean and Christopher Conway; William Jr., Maureen Briege and Aidan Murphy. He also is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-laws, Gerard and Selma Conway and James and Gloria Conway, all of Charlestown, a sister-in-law, Victoria Conway of Revere and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John Conway His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 4 until 8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
