Obituary of Mary A. Sullivan
Mary A. Sullivan 97 years a lifelong resident Peabody died Thursday at the Pilgrim Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Peabody.
Miss Sullivan was born October 18, 1906 in Peabody daughter of the late George and Rose (Harkins) Sullivan. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from St. John’ s Girls High School class of 1923. While in grammar school she survived the St. John School 1915 fire.
Miss Sullivan was employed for 30 years as a payroll clerk for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Waltham. She was a member of St. John’ s Ladies Sodality, the Golden Agers Club both in Peabody and the Federal Retiree’ s Union in Salem. She traveled extensively throughout the world.
Many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces and great grand nephews survive Miss Sullivan. She was pre deceased by her siblings Joseph, Harold, George and Charles Sullivan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. As per her request there are no visiting hours. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Friends of the Peabody Council on Aging, 79 Central St., Peabody MA 01960.
