Obituary of Anne Marie Costello

Anne Marie Costello, of Peabody, died Sunday at the Salem Hospital after a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody born on April 27, 1924, the daughter of the late William J. and Jessie B. (Fyfe) Costello, the sister of the late Peabody Police Chief Robert J. Costello and the grandaughter of the late Andrew and Jessie B. (Burnett) Fyfe. She was a graduate of St. John’ s Grammar School and High School in 1941. She later graduated from Emmanuel College, Boston in 1945 and attended Boston College Graduate School of Social Work in 1945 and 1946. She then went to work at the John Hancock Life Insurance Co, at the Boston Office in 1946 working their for 38 years prior to her retirement in 1984. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody and the St. John the Baptist Ladies Sodality. She is survived by a sister, Jessie B. Costello of Peabody, a nephew, Robert J. Costello Jr. of Ogunquit, Me., 3 nieces, Carol Costello of Amesbury, Ma., Gail and her Husband Kevin Murdoch and Joyce and her husband Thomas Nocella all of Peabody, Ma.; a sister-in-law, Eleanor E. (Paquette) Costello of Peabody, 6 grandnieces and grandnephews, Matthew, Caitlin and Luke Murdoch and Robert, Jamie and Jessie Nocella all of Peabody. Her Funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St., Peabody of the Conway , Cahill - Brodeur Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 9:00 a.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Discalced Carmelite Nuns, 15 Mt. Carmel Road, Danvers, Ma. 01923.
