Obituary of Marilyn (Walsh) Cassidy
Marilyn (Walsh) Cassidy, beloved wife of Richard Cassidy, died Monday evening at her home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Frederick D. and Mary E. (Cotter) Walsh. She was a lifelong resident of the city, attended Peabody schools, and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1949.
Mrs. Cassidy was a member of the Peabody Council on Aging, loved Irish Music, was a communicant at St. Ann’ s Church of Peabody, and especially enjoyed sociability with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by: her husband, Richard Cassidy of Peabody, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage; her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara & David E. Walsh, Sr., Patricia Cassidy, and Colleen & Simon Gonzalez, Jr. all of Peabody; seven grandchildren, US Army Sgt. David E. Walsh, Jr. & his wife Belinda, stationed in Iraq living in Peabody, Danny Walsh, Kaitlin Kurtzke, Kimberly Kurtzke, Simon Gonzalez, Alexander Gonzalez, and Elizabeth Gonzalez, all of Peabody; two great-grandchildren, David E. Walsh, III and Dylan Walsh both of Peabody; four sisters and brothers-in-law, her twin sister Mary McGrath and Ann Patricia & John Daley, all of Beverly, Judy & Lester Glenn of Peabody, and Joyce & James Eastman of East Bridgewater; an aunt, Margaret Ruth of Haverhill, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. Ann’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM.
Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody
