Obituary of Charlotte M. Somers- Sullivan

Charlotte M. (Mathieson) Somers-Sullivan, 90, of Peabody died Saturday at the Beverly Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Walter Somers and the late Walter Sullivan. Born and raised in No. Bergen, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Charles And Frieda (Klause) Mathieson and had resided most of her life in Peabody. She was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1930 and the former J.B. Thomas Hospital School of Nursing in 1933. She was employed as a nurse at St. Elizabeth’ s Hospital, Brighton and later at the former Salem Contagious Hospital from 1938 to 1943. She had been a foster mother to many children on the Northshore and worked with the No Shore Friend’ s Society, the No. Shore Catholic Charities and Adoption with Love of Newton. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Marjorie Wilkinson of Newbury, Ma., 2 daughters and son-in-laws, Charleen and Michael Tretola Of West Peabody and Dorothy and Stephen Zottoli of Williamstown, Ma.; 15 grandchildren, 12 great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Wilma Shea, Evelyn Mathieson, Florence Parker, Lillian Violetto, Margaret Dawling, Frieda Tighe and Charles Mathieson. Funeral Services will Be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the West Congregational Church, Johnson St., West Peabody. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6- 8 P.M. at the Cahill-Brodeur Facility at 20 Church St., Peabody of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
