Obituary of John M. Caulfield
John M. Lanky Caulfield, 78, of Fairweather Apartments
Peabody died suddenly Saturday morning at the Radius Health Care Center, Danvers after a brief illness. He was born in Peabody on May 10, 1926, the son of the late
Michael and Mary (Noone) Caulfield and resided here all his life.
He was first employed at the former A.C. Lawrence Leather Co., Peabody and after the plant closing was employed with the City of Peabody Park and Recreation Department until his retirement 13 years ago.
He was a veteran of WW 11 serving with the US Navy and was a member of the VFW Post 1011 of Peabody. He also belonged to the St. Michael’ s Club and the AOH Div 11 of Peabody. He was a sports enthusiast and devoted his life to caring for his mother.
He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Paul Kerkorian of Peabody, a sister-in-law, Claire Caulfield of Peabody, eight nieces and nephews, Patricia Nizwantowski, Paula Monahan, Pamela Parkinson , Mary Catherine Balestraci and Michael Caulfield all of Peabody, Cathy Andre of Hamilton, Mary Ann Soucy of No. Reading and Anthony Michalek of Danvers and many grand nieces and nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late James J. and Joseph M. Caulfield and Helen Michalek and the uncle of the late Colleen Caulfield.
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody location followed by a funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church at 11:00 AM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Roger B. Trask Adult Day Care program, 79 Central St., Peabody, Ma. 01960 in his memory.
