Obituary of Connie M. Maloney

Connie B. (Thompson) Maloney, 78, of Peabody, died Thursday at the Salem Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas P. Maloney. She was born and raised in Hurt, Virginia, on December 28, 1925, the daughter of the late Jack and Emma (Miller) Thompson and had resided in Peabody for the past 35 years. She had been a sales clerk at the former Newberry’ s Dept. Store and later at Almy’ s Department Store at the North Shore Mall for 15 years prior to her retirement. She had been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Post 1524 of Salem. She is survived by a sister, Geneva A. Thompson of Williamsburg, VA, and many nieces and nephews including Betty Harding, Jane Stenson, Charlotte Thompson, Elizabeth Davis and Geri Cheatham and Kenneth E. Thompson all of Virginia, a brother - in-law and his wife, Edward and Kay Daley of Dixfield, Maine. She was the brother of the late Ralph M. Thompson and Samuel Thompson. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
