Obituary of Frances K. (Kelley) Rackauskas

Frances K. (Kelley) Rackauskas 88 years of Danvers, wife of the late William A. Rackauskas, died Thursday afternoon at her home after a brief illness. Mrs. Rackauskas was born on October 8, 1915 in Peabody daughter of the late Perley K. and Alma P. (Knapp) Kelley. She was raised in Peabody, graduated from Peabody High School class of 1934. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1938 from Leslie College in Boston and was Valedictorian of Class. She lived in Peabody before moving to Danvers in 1996 to reside with her daughter. Mrs. Rackauskas began her teaching career in 1950 taught at every school in Peabody. She taught for several years at the Farnsworth School and retired from the Welch School in 1985. She was a member of the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association, was an avid reader, enjoyed arts and walking. She also had an angel collection. Mrs. Rackauskas is survived by a daughter and her husband, Sue A. and Peter S. Routses of Danvers, an aunt, Miriam Kramer of CT, 5 grandchildren, Allison Routses, Carrie Hebbelinck both of Danvers, Samantha Burditt of Tewksbury, William Holt of Swampscott and Fred Holt Jr. of Peabody; 5 great grandchildren, Aaron, Demitria, Troy, Laney and Hannah; a niece, Christine Ercoli of CA. She was predeceased in 1996 by her daughter Sally A. Holt and her brother Elbridge G. Kelley. Her funeral service will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
