Obituary of Marion (Fitchuk) Dorgan

Marion (Fitchuk) Dorgan, LPN, 79, of Peabody, died Thursday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Edward Joseph Dorgan. She was born in Peabody on February 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Mitrofan and Katie (Tkachuk) Fitchuk and had resided here most of her life. She was a graduate of Essex Agricultural School in Hathorne and was first employed with the City of Peabody at the Infirmary in South Peabody. She later worked at the former J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody for over 20 years. She also worked at the Hogan Regional Center in Hathorne, Danvers. Following her retirement, she became an ombudsman with the North Shore Elders helping the nursing home patients with their rights and was the recipient of the Silver Dove Award for her efforts by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She had been a long time member of the Peabody Garden Club and also loved to cook. She is survived by 3 Sons and two-daughters-in-law, Frank Dorgan of Epping, NH, Timothy and Trudy Dorgan of Litchfield, NH and Robert and Phyllis Dorgan of Peabody, MA, Seven grandchildren, Mark, Adam, Bryan ,Brandon, Kelly, Edward and William Dorgan, two sisters, Ruth Thibodeau of Danvers and Lois Boyko of Florida, a niece Kathy Sullivan, a nephew, John Fitchuk,and many grand nieces and grand nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late John Fitchuk. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the new 82 Lynn St., Peabody location. A Funeral Service will be held there on Monday at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
