Obituary of Bernice M. Matson

Bernice M. (Pydynkowski) Matson, 94, of Kingston, N.H. and Formerly of Salem, Ma. died Wednesday at the Rosewood Nursing Home, Peabody after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Elmer M. Matson. Born and raised in Salem, Ma., she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Pszenny) Pydynkowski and and resided in Salem most of her life before moving to Kingston, N.H. 30 years ago. She had been employed at the former Henry Leather Co. in Salem and later worked At the Varian Electronics of Beverly prior to her retirement 30 years ago. She had been a member of the House of Seven Gables Association and later enjoyed Being with her grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Peabody City Solicitor, Atty. Lawrence O’ Keefe of Peabody, a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Katherine Matson of Kingston, N.H., a brother, Henry Pydynkowski of Salem,Ma.; 7 grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank, Edward, Albert, Theodore and Valentine Pydynkowski, Sophie Romaszko, Kate Oswald, Jane Phillips, Henrietta De Falice, Irene Mc Namara and Patricia Wright. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St., Peabody of the Conway, Cahill - Brodeur Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, St. Peter St., Salem, Ma. at 9:00 a.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem,Ma. Visiting hours on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Those who desire may make donations to Hospice of North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, Ma. 01923 or the No. Shore ARC, Electronic Ave., Danvers, Ma. 01923 in her memory.
