Obituary of Anita E. (Socha) Jaros

Anita E. (Socha) Jaros, 67, of Peabody, died late Thursday afternoon at the Lahey Clinic North in Peabody following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Walter F. Jaros, Jr. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Blanche (Balon) Socha of Malden and the late Edward Socha. She was raised and educated in Chelsea, attended Chelsea Schools and was a graduate of Chelsea High School, class of 1953. After high school, she attended Catherine Gibb’ s School in Boston. She later lived in Lynnfield and has spent the last 25 years living in Peabody. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a secretary, first in the banking industry and later she worked in the retail industry on the North Shore. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, sewing, reading mystery novels and watching mystery shows. Mrs. Jaros was also a member of the Polish American War veterans club in Chelsea, past president of the Massachusetts Federation on Polish American Business and Professional Women and a member of the Kosciusko Foundation. She was a member of St. Joseph’ s Church Choir in Peabody and was very active the Polish club affairs. She is survived by two sons, Thaddeus A. Jaros of Peabody and Stanley A. Jaros of Los Angeles, Ca; two brother’ s and a sister-in-law, Stephen Socha of Melrose and William and Vikki Socha of North Pole, Alaska; two sisters, Elaine Socha of Swampscott and Valerie Socha of Malden and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
