Obituary of Constance "Connie" (Pramas) Vainas
Constance “Connie” (Pramas) Vainas, 79, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Thursday morning at her home. She was the former wife of Theofilos "Ted" Vainas of Lynn.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Bessie (Avdoulas) Pramas. She was a lifelong resident of the city and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1944.
During World War II, she traveled to France and Germany and was a volunteer with the United States Air Force.
She worked for over 20 years at the former Lechmere Store in Danvers as manager of the cash office, before retiring in 1991.
She enjoyed reading, bowling, going to the beach at Salem Willows, but most of all, enjoyed being with her family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Mark Vainas of Peabody, a daughter, Louise Moran of Swampscott, two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Elaine Pramas of Peabody and Peter and J.J. Pramas of Gloucester, a sister, Mary Butler of Peabody, a sister-in-law, Anne Pramas of Dracut, two grandchildren, Kayla and Jessica Moran of Swampscott, two nephews whom she help raised, Joseph Pramas of Gloucester and Robert Pramas of Peabody, as well as many other nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Angelo and his wife Noella Pramas, and Preston Pramas.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 9:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem.
