Obituary of Antonio J. Espinola

Antonio J. Espinola, 88, of Peabody, died early Monday morning at Union Hospital in Lynn following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Alzirina (Aguiar) Espinola. Born and raised in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose and Candida (Dos Anjos Picanco) Espinola. He later immigrated to the United States in 1979, lived in Peabody for many years before returning back to Portugal for 10 years. After the death of his wife 7 years ago, he moved back to Peabody. While living in Peabody, he worked at the former Blay Industries on the North Shore for six years until his retirement. He also enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his seven children, Manuel Aguiar and his wife Liduina Espinola of Cal, Idalino and Diamantina Espinola of Peabody, Yuvina Espinola and her husband Jose Silva of Cal., Fracisco and Idalia Espinola of Peabody, Maria Conceicao Espinola and her husband Florentino Pavao, Valentina Natalia Espinola and Her husband Firmilindo Espinola of Cal., and Maria Fatima Espinola and her husband Manuel Picanco of Peabody; 12 grandchildren, Jose Manuel, Irene, Roberto, Paulo, Carlos Miguel, Nuno, Paulo Miguel, Carla, Firmilindo, Arthur, Tarria, and Jeffrey; 7 great grandchildren and a niece Celeste Lobao of Peabody. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
