Obituary of Marie (Landry) Horne
Marie (Landry) Horne, beloved wife of the late Andrew Horne, died early Sunday morning at her home following a brief illness.
Born in Canada, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Breau) Landry. She lived there until a teenager, then moved to Lynn with her family where she attended schools, also. She lived in Lynn for 60 years, before moving to Saugus where she lived for 12 years, then lived in Peabody with her daughter for the last four years.
Mrs. Horne worked as a Waitress for several North Shore fine dining establishments, including Anthony’ s Hawthorne (the Original restaurant) in Lynn, The Ship in Lynnfield, and Red Coach Grill in Saugus before retiring.
She was active at the Peabody Adult Day Care at the Torigian Community Life Center in Peabody where she enjoyed Big Band Jazz music, arts and crafts, but especially most liked being and socializing with her family and friends.
She is survived by: one daughter, Judith Gainley of Peabody; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Lillian Horne of AZ; two grandchildren, Frank Gainley, Jr. of Burlington, and Lisa Gainley of Peabody; four grandchildren, Brianna, Tayla, Marlea and Shaylinn; three brothers, Emile Landry of Lynn, Ernest Landry and Robert Landry, both of Saugus; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. Richard’ s Church, Danvers to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
