Obituary of Catherine "Kay" George

Catherine Kay George, of Peabody, died early Monday evening at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a lengthy illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late James and Irene (Andreadis) George. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody, attended Peabody Schools and was a graduate of Peabody High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a secretary, first with GTE Sylvania for 20 years and later for her family’ s insurance business, A.J. George Insurance in Peabody for 25 years. She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching Red Sox and Patriots Games. She also enjoyed traveling and the Theatre. She is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Anthony George of Peabody, Nicholas and Stella George of Salem, a sister, Bessie George of Peabody and by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Charles George Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed Funeral Services at 10:00 AM in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Wednesday from 4 until 8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Vasilios Altar Fund, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody, MA 01960.
