Obituary of Stanley A. Lachowicz

Stanley A. Lachowicz, 87, of Peabody died Saturday evening at the Pilgrim House Nursing Center, Peabody after a short illness. He was the husband of Helen T. (Swiderski) Lachowicz with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. He was born in Lynn, Ma on September 27, 1918, the son of the late Adolph and Feliksa (Drobneck) Lachowicz and was raised and educated in Peabody and resided here most of his life. He was a graduate of Peabody High School where he played and starred on the Football Team. He had been employed as a mechanic at the General Electric Company in Lynn for 42 years prior to his retirement in 1981. He was a veteran of WW II serving overseas with the US Navy and was a member of the VFW Post 1011 of Peabody. He had been a member of St. Michael’s Society in Peabody serving as an officer for many years and belonged to their baseball team and later the Golf league. He was also a member of the Polish National Alliance of Peabody. Surviving him besides his wife are two sisters and a brother-in-law, Irene Piotrowicz and Sophie and Alphonse Pankauski all of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jennie Thibodeau of Canton .A Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody location. Funeral Services will be held there on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. John the Baptist Church, 28 St. Peter St., Salem, MA 01970 in his memory.
