Obituary of Albert DeSisto

Albert Chief De Sisto PEABODY Albert Chief De Sisto, beloved husband of Joanne (Hockney) De Sisto, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday morning following a brief illness. Born in Revere, he was the son of the late Albert and Louise (Reppucci) De Sisto. He lived there in his youth and attended Revere schools. He graduated from Revere High School. He lived in Peabody for many years. Mr. De Sisto was a veteran, serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return to civilian life, he soon worked at General Electric, Riverworks Plant, in Lynn where he was a Drafting Engineer for over 30 years of service. He retired 11 years ago. Mr. De Sisto was a simple man who loved his family, enjoyed socializing with people while he demonstrated his great culinary skills with his famous meatballs, had a great gift of creativity to solve mechanical problems, loved travel to Fort Lauderdale in FL, enjoyed his camp on Ossippee Lake in New Hampshire, and loved Italian Music and was an avid Patriots Fan. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 227 in Middleton and the D.A.V. Navy Yard, Chapter 17 in Charlestown. He is survived by; his wife, Joanne (Hockney) De Sisto of Peabody, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage; three sons, Thomas De Sisto and Kevin De Sisto, both of Peabody, and Ronald De Sisto of Gloucester; two daughters, Laura Karcher of Gloucester and Tina Copeland of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren, Shailyn De Sisto of Peabody and Serene De Sisto of Gloucester; one brother, Anthony De Sisto of Lynn; one sister, Josephine La Conca of Revere, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth De Sisto, brothers Carmine, Richard and Paul, and a sister Mary Currier. . His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’ s Chuch, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Memorial donations may be made to St. Francis House, 39 Boyleston St., Boston, MA 02116
