Obituary of Phyllis Marie Carter

Phyllis Marie Carter, 79,formerly of Crowninshield St., Peabody, died Tuesday evening at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home, Peabody, after a short illness. She was born in Peabody, the daughter of the late James and Florence (Codair) Carter and had resided here all her life. She had been employed at the Salem Laundry Company of Salem for 30 years prior to her retirement 20 years ago. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo and recently was voted the volunteer Of the year award at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home. She is survived by two brothers and sister-in-laws, James and Dolores Carter of Peabody and Robert and Rosemary Carter of Casillton, Vt., 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Florence and Francis Fortin and Mae Sirois all of Peabody, 14 grandnieces and Grand nephews, 23 great grandnieces and grandnephews and 3 great great grandnieces And grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Arlene Tweed and Alice Perry. Her Funeral will be held on Friday at 8:15 a.m. from the Cahill-Brodeur Facility at 20 Church St., Peabody of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur funeral home followed By a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 9:00 A.M. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.
