Obituary of Rosemarie (Devaney) McIntosh

Rosemarie (Devaney) McIntosh, 50, of Peabody died unexpectedly Sunday at her home. She was born in Salem, MA on April 14, 1954, the daughter of Everett Devaney and Rose (Domingos) (Devaney) Skelley and was raised In Salem graduating from Salem High School in 1972. She had resided in Peabody for the past 25 years. While at Salem High, she was a member of the girls Softball team and also played Recreational Volley ball and basketball for many years. She had been a Sales Clerk at Marshall’ s Department Store in Danvers for 15 years and later was employed at the Stop & Shop Supermarket in Peabody for the past 5 years. She was a sports enthusiast who loved watching the Celtics, Bruins, Patriots and the Red Sox on television. She was a member of the Portuguese American War Veterans Post # 1 of Peabody. She is survived by her mother Rose Skelley of Peabody, her father and step-mother, Everett and Elizabeth Devaney of Winslow, ME, 3 brothers and a sister-in-law, Everett and Diane Devaney of Jacksonville, FL, Dennis Devaney of Norridgewock, ME and Kenneth Devaney of Peabody; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and William Taglieri of Peabody, and nine nieces and nephews, Julie Shailor of Foxboro, Katie, Meghan, Maura, John and Derek Devaney all of Jacksonville, FL, David and Michael Taglieri of Peabody and Dannielle Devaney of Norridgewock, ME. She was the step-daughter of the late Edward Skelley. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home at the 12 Chestnut St. Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’ s Church, Peabody at 10:00 a.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, and MA 01701 in her memory.
