Obituary of James A. Crean

James A. Jimmy Crean, 80, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening at the Pilgrim House Nursing Home, Peabody after a short illness. He was born in Peabody, Ma on March 15, 1924, the son of the late James J. and Helen C. (Case) Crean and was a life long resident of Peabody. He had been employed at the New England Sportswear Co. in Peabody for 15 years prior to his retirement. He was an avid sports fan and spent many years following the Peabody High Sports Programs and well as Peabody Youth sports. He was also a loyal red sox fan. He is survived by his brother, Robert F. Crean of Peabody, a niece and her husband, Susan and Stephen Bertrand of Saugus, a nephew and his wife, Robert and Tina Crean of Peabody, 6 grandnieces and grandnephews, Katie and Nick Bertand of Saugus and Jessica, Jennifer and Timothy Hubisz and Stephanie Crean, all of Peabody. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:00 from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’ s Church, Peabody at 9:00 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
