Obituary of Elias P. Pramataris

Elias P. Pramataris, 80, beloved husband of Panagiota (Tzortzis) Pramataris, of Ord St. in Salem, died Monday evening at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Greece, he was the son of the late Panagioti and Hrisoula (Sofos) Pramataris. He lived there in his youth and for most of his life. He emigrated to the United States, settling in Salem where he lived for over 30 years. Mr. Pramataris worked as a Trimmer at Salem Shoe, and later worked in Production facility at Fishery Products in Danvers before his retirement in 1987. He was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, and was an original member of the Yerakos Society of New England. He loved meeting family and friends, socializing at the North Shore Mall where he did a morning walk, and he loved fishing, swimming in the ocean, gardening, and travelling back to Greece to see family and friends there. He is survived by: his wife, Panagiota (Tzortzis) Pramataris, of Salem; one son, Peter Pramataris of Salem; two daughters and sons-in-law, Hrisoula Soula & Petros Gouvousis of Salem and Katina & Phillip Kritikos of Peabody; three grandchildren, Stacey Gouvousis of Salem, Vicki Kritikos and Anthony Tony Kritikos, both of Peabody; two brothers, Ioannis Pramataris and Evangelos Pramataris, both of Greece; one sister, Martha Kokoris, also of Greece, and many nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Argiro Kapeleris and Froso Lazarakis. His funeral will be held on Friday at 10 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM in the Conway facility. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
