Obituary of Pauline (Chigas) Cauley
Pauline (Chigas) Cauley, 72, beloved wife of William Cauley, passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 25th at Salem Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Danvers on May 13, 1932, she was the eldest daughter of Nicholas and Ida (Andreanopoulos) Chigas. She lived in Peabody for most of her life, and attended Peabody schools. She graduated from Peabody High School, and upon her marriage she moved to Beverly where she raised her family.
Pauline worked for GTE Sylvania in Danvers for 30 years, then retired to spend more time with her family.
She enjoyed cooking, and celebrating the holidays with huge feasts for her loved ones. She loved crossword puzzles and watching Figure Ice Skating Competitions.
She leaves behind her husband William Cauley of Peabody, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage; two sons Charles Cauley of Peabody and New Hampshire, and Michael Cauley of Peabody; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela Cauley Dick and her husband Timothy Dick of Groveland; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. William (Donna) Cauley of Salem and Lynda Cauley of Hamilton; six grandchildren, Brittaney and Garrett Cauley of Salem, and Alanna, Shauna, Bryan, and Kerrianne Cauley of Hamilton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James & Doris Chigas of NH, formerly Salem, and William & Jean Chigas of Salem; a sister, Irene Glencross of Peabody; she was the sister-in-law of John & Phyllis Cauley of Cape Cod & FL, Ann Cauley of Beverly, and she also leaves many cousins, and loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, William Cauley of Salem, brother Charles Chigas of TX, and sister Andrea Shervington of Peabody & Newburyport.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the
Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody, facility. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM
Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
