Obituary of Spiros Mouzithras

Spiros Mouzithras, 61, of Salem, beloved husband of Faye (Theophilopoulos) Mouzithras, died early Saturday morning at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Cypress Greece, he was the son of Emmanuel and Antonia (Kalegias) Mouzithras. He was raised and educated in Chios, Greece, before immigrating to the United States in 1967 and has been residing in Peabody since. While living in Chios, Greece, he served with the Greek Navy, was a member of the Kanaris Organization, and a member of the Logganiko and Mani Society. He later entered the printing business and worked for Quinn Printing in Newton. He is survived by a son Charles Thomaidis of Salem, three brothers, Kyriakos Mouzithras of Philadelphia, PA., George Mouzithras of Chios, Greece and John Mouzithras of Athens, Greece; brothers and sisters-in-law, Heidi and Steven Polemenakos of Marblehead, John and Mary Theo of Peabody, Peter and Ann Theo of Swampscott, Perry and Tasia Theophilopoulos of Salem, and Niki Mouzithras of Peabody, two grandchildren, Maria Katrina and Cassandra Faye Thomaidis, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Isidoras Mouzithras. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed Funeral Services at 10:00 AM in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
